Can Gratitude Be the Secret to Shifting Your Karma?

Can Gratitude Be the Secret to Shifting Your Karma?

Raj was having one of those days.

He was running late for an important meeting, his phone battery was at 5%, and just as he rushed to his car, he saw it—a flat tire.

Frustration surged through him. Why does this always happen to me? he muttered under his breath. It felt like the universe was working against him.

A mechanic took nearly an hour to arrive. Sitting on the sidewalk, scrolling through old emails, Raj’s irritation grew. Every setback, every failure, every disappointment of the past year flooded his mind. His business wasn’t where he wanted it to be. His relationships felt strained. Nothing seemed to be going right.

Just then, a man approached him—a middle-aged stranger, weathered but smiling. “Bad luck?” the man asked, pointing at the tire.

Raj sighed. “Story of my life.”

The man chuckled. “I used to think the same way. Until I started asking a different question.”

Raj looked at him, curious. “What question?”

The man smiled. “Instead of asking, ‘Why does this always happen to me?’ I started asking, ‘What am I still blessed with despite this?’”

Raj was caught off guard. The man continued, “Your tire is flat, yes. But what’s still going right? You’re safe. You have a car. You have a job to get to. Not everything is broken. Only this moment.”

And with that, the man walked away.

That evening, Raj couldn’t shake the conversation. He realized that he had been feeding negative energy into his life without realizing it. He was so focused on what was wrong that he never acknowledged what was right.

He decided to try something new:

🌿 Morning Gratitude Practice – Every morning, before checking his phone, he wrote down three things he was grateful for.

🌿 Reframing Setbacks – Instead of frustration, he asked, “What is this teaching me?”

🌿 Expressing Gratitude to Others – He started thanking people—his team, his family, even strangers. The more he did, the more connected he felt.

Weeks later, Raj noticed a shift. His stress levels dropped. Opportunities began flowing in. His relationships improved. Nothing outside had changed dramatically, but he had.

His energy had shifted. His karma had shifted.

Your Turn

Gratitude isn’t just a feel-good practice—it’s a karmic reset button. It pulls us out of negativity and redirects our focus to abundance.
